Growing up from copper belt specifically Mufulira in the 80’s and 90’s one concluded no other brand in the milling industry ever existed every household was well stocked with Olympic bread, maize meal and flour.  Not to mention the big buns our miner fathers came home with after a long shift.

I remember how it was so traditional back in the days to have one Hugh Christmas cake from a neighborhood. looking at Olympic milling flour brings back those childhood memories.

The company was started and established in 1953.

The business of Olympic Milling Group (“OMG”) has since successfully grown and diversified over the decades from the original maize milling plant located in the Copperbelt town of Mufulira, into a leading diversified Zambian group with business interests in flour and maize milling, animal feed manufacturing, arable farming, copper mining and hydropower.

This family owned company has developed into a turnover of +-$70 million per year and employs more than 800 people.

The Group operations are spread throughout Zambia, with the head offices situated in Kitwe, in the Copperbelt province of Zambia. Kitwe is about 380 km North West of Lusaka, the capital city of Zambia.

OMG’s business is conducted through 6 operating companies, with the majority of those companies based on the Copperbelt region of Zambia.
