FlySafair Launches Flights between Johannesburg SA and Livingstone ZAMBIA.
The Minister of Tourism graced the occasion as he witnessed the momentous official launch of FlySafair flights from Johannesburg, South Africa into Livingstone, Zambia.
In his speech the Minister explained how the two countries, Zambia and South Africa share strong bilateral ties which span many years and that South Africa continues to be one of Zambia’s biggest trading partners.
Therefore, this inaugural FlySafair flight from Johannesburg to Livingstone that we witnessed today is a further step in fostering our bilateral friendship with the Republic of South Africa.
The government is delighted with Fly Safair’s decision to extend their flight services into Zambia. The flight operations have come at an opportune time when the new dawn government has identified aviation as one of the key sectors for economic diversification.
Government aspires to transform Zambia into an aviation hub for the Southern African region and beyond as espoused in the national civil aviation strategy. Today’s inaugural flight is a step in the right direction towards attaining our vision.
Safair’s commencement of flight operations into Livingstone is indeed an important milestone for Zambia as it will create opportunities to promote Zambia’s tourism. The flight services will stimulate traffic and connect tourists from all over the world into out beautiful country.
I wish to commend and warmly welcome FlySafair to Livingstone, the home of the mighty Victoria Falls. “Mwaiseni”, “Mwatambulwa”, “Mutamboke” as we say it in some of our local languages.
